I'm licensed in the state of Texas, and the rules here are that I can only provide mental health services to people who also live in Texas. We can work in person at my office, or I can provide telehealth services through secure and private channels. For telehealth services, I request that we have good safety plans in place as needed and at least some of your first session will be devoted to creating one.

My practice is a general mental health practice, and I can assist with a wide range of challenges and areas you want to work on. I have specific training in managing binge and loss of control eating behaviors, issues specific to LGBTQ+ populations, and emotional and sexual intimacy for couples. I provide these services, as appropriate, to people ages 16 and up.  I provide family counseling for families including people ages 14 and up, and it is my current policy that people ages 14 and 15 are only seen with family members. I am glad to provide referrals to families with children under 16 who want individual therapy.

My training is based in Relational Cultural Theory; I'm a relationship expert and I operate from this framework in session. We get hurt in relationships, but ultimately we heal in relationship with others. We can examine all kinds of relationships in your life: your relationships with other people, with your past, with food, with yourself.

I provide letters in support of gender affirming medical care as well as safety carry letters. Please be prepared to sign a release to your primary provider so I can confirm your treatment with them and your transition timeline.

For name/gender marker changes, please plan for at least one session.
For HRT letters, please plan for 2-4 sessions. For surgical support letters, please plan for 4-6 sessions. These sessions will be billed to your insurance as applicable, and there is no additional charge for the writing or delivery of your letter.

The WPATH guidelines state we need a few sessions to help keep you safe and secure as you pursue your gender treatment needs. Therefore, no letters are provided of any type without the appropriate vetting.

If you have needs that fall outside of my training, competency, or practice, I'm going to be honest with you about that, and I'll be glad to give you appropriate referrals.
If you're coming to me for just a few sessions for a specific topic, but are seeing another provider for long-term care, my code of ethics says I need to consult with your regular provider, as needed, about our work together. You'll need to sign the appropriate release paperwork for that to happen.

Currently, I am in network with Cigna, Cigna EAP, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, United/Optum, Aetna and TRICARE-Humana Military South.  As of 6/5/2023 I am longer be in network with Magellan Healthcare.  I do provide paperwork and documentation to help you file for out of network benefits if that is your desire.

As of April 1, 2024, my rate for an initial appointment is $175 and for sessions after that is $150 per hour. Each session lasts 50-60 minutes, including your initial visit. I accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and HSA cards. Card transactions are completed through Square or TheraNest, and receipts will be provided through text or email.

You will be provided with and asked to sign a Good Faith Estimate in accordance with The No Surprises Act of 2022. You will be asked to keep an active credit or debit card on file in the secure client portal to cover your financial responsibility.

My building and office space are designed to be accessible to people with mobility issues or assistant devices. If you have specific needs to help make the space accessible, please let me know.

Whatever is bringing you to therapy, I'm so glad you're here and that you're considering me to join this part of your journey. I sincerely look forward to our work together. You're awesome and wonderful and I admire your commitment to doing the work to take care of yourself.
